Chocolate Pizza
Ingredients (to make one chocolate pizza)
- 175ml warm water
- 1 sachet active dry yeast
- 250g plain flour
- pinch sugar
- pinch salt
- 50ml light olive oil
- 50g butter, melted
- 75g raspberry jam
- 100g milk chocolate, grated or finely chopped
- 50g white chocolate, chips or roughly chopped
- 50g dark chocolate, chips or roughly chopped
Method
Pour warm water into a small mixing bowl and stir in the yeast. Let stand until yeast dissolves, about 5 minutes.
Brush large bowl lightly with olive oil and set aside. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a food processor. Add yeast mixture and olive oil and process until dough forms a sticky ball.
Transfer to lightly floured surface. Knead dough until smooth, adding more flour by tablespoonfuls if dough is very sticky. Transfer to prepared bowl and turn dough in bowl to coat with oil. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and let dough rise in warm draft-free area for one hour until doubled in volume.
Preheat oven to 220°C (fan-assisted 200°C).
Line a large baking tray with baking paper. Punch down dough and then roll out onto a lightly floured surface to form a rough 28cm (11 inch) round pizza base. Transfer dough to prepared tray. Brush the base with melted butter.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until pale golden.
Spread jam over the top of the hot pizza base. Sprinkle grated milk chocolate over the pizza base and top with the white and dark chocolate.
Bake for 2-5 minutes or until chocolate begins to melt.
Cut into wedges, and serve. You can of course customise your Chocolate Pizza with any combination of nuts, candy, biscuits…
Replace the white chocolate with crushed biscuit/cookies and add chopped marshmallows to the top.
Add fresh fruit to the top – try fresh raspberries or sliced banana.
Replace the jam with Peanut Butter and the white chocolate with chopped Peanut Butter Cups.
Replace the jam with Hazelnut Chocolate Spread and add chopped Hazelnuts to the top.
