A quick and simple chocolate flapjack recipe.
Ingredients
- 175g unsalted butter
- 175g brown sugar
- 25g golden syrup
- 250g rolled oats
- 150g chocolate (dark, milk or white), chips or roughly chopped
Method
Preheat oven to 150ºC (fan-assisted 130ºC). Grease and line a 18cm x 28cm slice pan with baking paper.
In a large pan, melt together the butter, sugar and syrup, while stirring. When melted, remove from the heat and stir in the oats. Fold through the chocolate.
Pour into tin and smooth the surface with a spoon. Bake for 35-40 mins or until the edges are brown and the surface has turned golden.
Leave in tin to cool. Cut into squares after 10 minutes, but leave to cool completely before removing from the tin.
Wow…never heard of these before. They look slightly addictive.
I’ve actually made choccy flapjacks very similar to these before. Delicious, a brilliant pick-me-up at lunchtime, and very good for satisfying the sweet tooth
