Chocolate Milkshakes (4 Variations)

Chocolate Milkshakes… So many variations to choose from, below are just four of my favourites.

To start, I have a recipe for Chocolate Sauce which I always use as the base for Milkshakes, you could of course replace this with store brought Chocolate Topping. You can freeze this Chocolate Sauce in an ice cube tray and use the frozen cubes of Chocolate Sauce to make a milkshake whenever you like!

Chocolate Sauce



Ingredients

  • 100g dark chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 150ml cream
  • 1 tbs brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method

To make the chocolate sauce, place chocolate, cream, sugar and vanilla in a small saucepan. Stir over low heat until chocolate melts. Bring to a simmer. Simmer for 8-10 minutes or until it reduces and thickens. Pour into a heatproof jug and set aside to cool. To make a White Chocolate Sauce simply replace the Dark Chocolate with White Chocolate.

1. Simple Chocolate Milkshake

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1L (4 cups) milk
  • 8 tablespoons of Dark Chocolate Sauce (see above recipe)
  • 4 scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream

Method

Start by drizzling 1 tablespoon of Chocolate Sauce around the inside edges of each glass.

In a blender, place the milk, ice cream and remaining sauce and blend until well combine. Pour into each glass and enjoy!

2. Raspberry and Chocolate Milkshake

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1L (4 cups) milk
  • 4 tablespoons of Dark Chocolate Sauce (see above recipe)
  • 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • 150g raspberries

Method

Start by drizzling 1 tablespoon of Chocolate Sauce around the inside edges of each glass.

In a blender, place the milk, ice cream and raspberries and blend until well combine. Pour into each glass to serve!

3. Vanilla and White Chocolate Milkshake

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1L (4 cups) milk
  • 8 tablespoons of White Chocolate Sauce (see above recipe)
  • 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • 2 x vanilla bean, seeded

Method

In a blender, place the milk, ice cream, vanilla bean seeds and white chocolate sauce and blend until well combine. Enjoy!

4. Cookies and Cream Milkshake

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1L (4 cups) milk
  • 4 tablespoons batch of White Chocolate Sauce (see above recipe)
  • 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • 80g chocolate biscuits or cookies (such as Oreos)

Method

In a blender, place the milk, ice cream, chocolate biscuits and white chocolate sauce and blend until well combine. Try serving with crushed biscuits or cookies on top!
